Red Hat AS 3.0 Support

When will I be abel to back up an OS with RH AS 3.0? I am running NBU DC 4.5 ..

I doubt anyone here can answer that honestly. This is up to the software vendor. I would place a call to Veritas support or your sales rep and express your need.

If I'm reading your question right you want to be able to backup a RH Enterprise 3.0 system to a NB 4.5 server? I've been able to backup RHE3 to our RH 7.3 NB 4.5 server by adding the following line to each of the veritas scripts under /etc/xinetd.d/ (bpcd,bpjava-msvc,vnetd and vopied):

env = LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

I don't think it matters where it goes in the scripts. I have mine below the wait = no line and I have had no problems backing up and restoring to the systems. I've only done this with WS, but I'm pretty certain it'll work with AS. Also make sure to either reboot or restart the xinetd daemon after adding the line to the four files.
