Recycle bin hangs?

I am wondering if others experience the following issue:

When I copy a folder from a Windows NT 4.0 server to a Windows 98 desktop, then put the folder in the recycle bin, then empty the recycle bin, frequently the Win 98 workstation appears to hang for 30 seconds or so before emptying the recycle bin and responding.

You can move the mouse pointer around, but you really can't do anything until this hang clears.

Is this a network problem? Specific to my setup? Have others seen anything similar?

Thanks!

Are you deleting when full copy procedure is finished ?
Some times it happens when you are still copying and u delete the files.

Yes - I am waiting until after the copy to the desktop completes and the copy status window goes away. It's almost like it's still copying in the background even thought the copy window goes away - the hard drive doesn't appear to be running though. It's just strange and happened on several systems.

Thanks!

Update -

Here's something very cool (or NOT)....

I tried this procedure on a completely different network in another company with the same setup (NT 4.0 server with 98 workstations) and the same thing happened.

Well at least I know it's not just my one set up and I can maybe get on with my life....

Hehehe

Another update:

It appears to maybe be related to a large number of files in the folder being deleted, not necessary the SIZE of the files but the number of them.
