When data is deleted from a table, that data is automatically disappear. Where does that data go to? Is it possible to create a type of recycle bin for Access where the data is stored temporarily (I don't mean having a temp orary table but something like a recylce bin where you can undo your changes).

Simple. Don't directly delete anything. Define a delete bit. If set, ignore the row until you want it back; then reset the bit. Robert Berman

im doing my final year report on having something like a recycle bin for access. when data is deleted, where does access store or place it?

The way I do it is to add a field to each of your tables called Deleted and is a yes/no field.

All my objects are based on queries where deleted is no.

This way a user can delete a record by checking the tick box but of course the record is not deleted.

I then have an append query that runs when needed to append "Deleted Records" to an archive table. This is run on an ad hoc basis depending on the size of the database

What if the deleted information was to be stored in a virtual table/folder/file? Is it plausible to create a virtual "storage" with and for Access?

Thanks for the link joshuar! It helps a little. You wouldn't happen to have links to related information dealing with the backend of access? I mean, info on the structure of how access works?
