Recovery Storage Group

I have added the Mailbox Store to the Recovery Storage Group. However, when I dismount the original Store and try to delete it, Exchange tells me that there are mailboxes connected which should be moved or maildisabled before it can be removed. Is there a procedure for this or do I have to go through the individual mailboxes before I can delete the mailbox store and then create a new one for the recovery.
