Having recently switched ISP's I "lost" e-mail archives which were apparently stored on the server. I have a backup disk and have located the files in Application Data -Microsoft - Outlook Express - Mail.

However, when I try to copy them to the same file on my hard drive, I'm prompted to replace the current file with the backed up file (which I do not want to do -- I hope to have both the "old" and the "new" mail).

My question is, can I rename the backed up files and still move them into Outlook Express? Or is there a better method?

Thanks very much.

Hi SMitch

Usually I will import old email to the current Inbox. I don't have the Outlook X on my current system now, nor I don't remember exact the menu/option how to import the mail, but it is the way for you to put back your old mails into the current Inbox.

You also can rename the old mail and move it back to OXpress.

I beg you can follow the screen instruction how to import email.

Hope this give you a bit clue.
