recovering files

Hi Guys,

we got daily backup starts with full on friday and then daily incremental, and a weekly full backup on sunday (stored off site). When i recover files from mid week its asking for daily backup tapes and weekly backup (full) tapes. It doesnt recongnise the full backup of friday, it always asking for the latest full backup tape which is not site. how can i change this. appreciate it if you could help me.. thankyou

You can't. Otherwise the recovry would be imcomplete.

Best practice is to clone the full backup and store this media offsite.

have you try shipping your friday offsite, and change your sunday full to saturday? i think your restores should now use the sunday full bkup which is onsite.

Looks like re-scheduling is the only option..

It'is , may be, because If you have opened files during friday backup and not on sunday backup , all files are closed.

See option to skip backup of opened files....
