Report worked before but when I tried to open it, I recieved the following message
Error said:
This document could not be opened. It does not appear to be a Crystal Report document

This document has the expected file extension (.RPT,) but it seems to be corrupted. If this report used to work, try opening it with a different version of Crystal Reports and if that still doesn't work, contact your administrator.

The report was created in Crystal XI R2 so I can't use a different version as suggested (I do have Crystal 8.5) and since I have the most experience with Crystal Reports, that makes me the de facto administrator, too. Suggestions anyone or am up a creek without a paddle?

Probably. In future, make back-up copies. Use 'Save As' to create a new version and have the old one as a back-up.

I thought so! Thanks anyway.

Oh Well! Back to the drawing board.

If your report is worth more than $100 there is a company that can sometimes fix corrupted RPT files. One of my customers used them 2 years ago.
