recovering administrator password

Hi everyone is there a way to know the adninistrator password is you have access to the SAM.

Here the scenario, for some reason the administrator password of a server windows 2000 was change, and no body is able to loggon on this server, I installed a parelele instalation of w2k server now I am able to get the old sam.

Is there any program that I can use to read the old sam, un encrypted and read the old password?

Is the old server a domain controller or a member server?
