I had a hard disk crash last week. my hard disk drive became corrupt and won't not load windows. It actually rolled back to starting Windows 98, but it would freeze and tell me files like command.com etc were not available. i managed to recover the majority of files using recovery software. thankfully alot of the documents open without any problem. however, there are a few important documents in word and Exel that wont open. Some of them open up a file conversion window prompting to choose from encoding such as arabic, latin etc. soe of the other ones say that the file not be accessed an to insert office disk to install component to fix this. however installing the disk does not help and finally some of them say that the file cannot be accessed because thay are read only. are there any office recovery programs that may help me?
