Recordset.AbsolutePage doesn't work???

I am not normally an ASP developer, but I have a small project that I must finish up today. I'm trying to accomplish pagination and I have it all, but for some reason no matter what I do to set the recordset's AbsolutePage property, it comes up as -1. Every other recordset property appears to be working fine (PageCount, PageSize, etc...)

Anyone know why this would be happening? This is driving me mad and I need help really quickly...

how about faq333-4615 (How to make RecordCount property of the Recordset return the right value (not -1))
