Recording interface adapter for the Callmaster V?

I have a group at work who wants to record calls off of a mixed batch of Callmaster IV's and V's. The 4 is no problem, but the Callmaster 5 is. The recording interface that we want to use splits off the analog going to the handset and sends it to the microphone port of a PC.

Is there anyone who sells a pre-made recording adapter that will split off the orange pair and put it to a regular handset jack (RJ22) so I can get my analog signal at the desk instead of in the closet?

A callmaster V has to headset plugs on the underside of the phone. Plug the HIC cord for your heaset in one and plug an adapter that you can buy at radioshack in the other headset plug.

According to our resident Avaya guru, the outputs on the Callmaster V are digital, not analog - or is one of them analog and he's wrong?

Well your guru is not quite the guru he thinks he is. Handsets and headset are both 4 wire analog. Two wires for TX and two for RX. Now the line plug that goes to the wall is digital, but not the headset plugs.

I think Avaya sold an adapter but I recall it being expensive.

I just had one of my techs who's handy with a crimper make the cables.

If my memory is correct, the pins are 7 and 8 on the RJ45 on the bottom of the phone. Yes it's the digital port, but the digital line uses pin 4 & 5. On that same port, pin 7&8 are used for analog recording. We just used 2 phone wires, crimped together with an RJ45. One wire goes to the phone line port on the wall, and the other, we cut it off and put a 1/8 inch mono jack and plugged it into the MIC in port on the PC (or tape recorder) and presto, you can now record your calls!

Unfortunately for my 6408D+ phones we had to use something more exotic, but your Call Master V should be fine.
