Can anyone help me with recording announcements? I am trying to record a new announcement (newly created- not recording over an old one) on one of my VAL boards. I set it up via my ASA "cha announcements", then am using the FAC to go to the announcement number to record it. I get the wave off every time I try to go to that announcement number? I've set up a couple of other new ones in the past week without any problems. But this one last one will NOT work.
I've deleted it off the list and re-added it; I've changed the announcement extension number; same thing. ?!?!? All the others are working just fine. I'm stumped here.

Do you console permissions on the ext you are calling from? You have to have it to record announcements.

Yes, I have console permission. I changed the announcement number to something totally different and I was able to record a few more. But now I'm back at square 1. I know this is probably a really dumb question, but what governs which extensions can be used and which can't? For example - I was able to record an announcement finally on X2029, and 2030. 2031 is now giving me the hi/low wave off again??

check the firmware on the board, i just had a tier 3 ticket with avaya and the firmware was below 7. Everytime you would try to record you would lock the record port in playback mode. This locks all input to the bord.

The COS on the station form governs or provides console permissions. chang COS and figure out which column has Console Permissions Y. Then change your stations COS to reflect that.

Thanks,
