Record Selection Mismatch

We are modifying a report we have utilized for some time. To date, only changes made are text fields and boxes. We use a record selection formula to obtain a subset of records from the database (Goldmine). The selection works fine on the original report. The same selection on the new report finds the expected number of records when Print Preview is executed but when the full report is built is only produces a subset (about 30%).

We are using Crystal Reports 7. Any ideas what is happening? This has become a crisis since the modified report is needed as soon as possible.

Thanks

What does "when the full report is built" mean?

Previewing a report is no different than printing a report, except that the output goes to the screen. Are you saying if you physically print the report, you are getting a different data set than if you preview the report?

Thanks for the reply. I'm sorry I didn't answer your response sooner. This issue got lost among many other projects.

I guess I was not clear. To make it simpler... Using the same report which has only had text modifications to the report format (and saved as a different report file) and using the same exact record selection formula, we get a different number of records selected (only about 30% of expected)than with the original report. This has consistently proven true when taking the same original report again and adding text lines and boxes to the report.

Can't imagine what might cause it but we can't solve the problem either and need to make the changes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Please verify that you are using the same ODBC connection (I am assumming you are using ODBC to connect here) and that the linking is identical to the other report.
