I'm using Access 2000 and have created a simple query.

How can I develop a formula that will give me the record count number? The first record is 1, the second record is 2, and so on.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want the total number of records or do you want a number attached to each record? First one's fairly simple. Second one's much more difficult.

The second case.

Have the record count number for each record.

So, you want a ranking query and for this you need a unique sort key.

Hope This Helps, PH.
