I'm looking for a recommended virtual memorty setting for my computer. Just installed a 512 mb of pc150, and a game dosn't work anymore. I've set virtual initial virtual memory to 1500, and max to 2000. I'm on a 30 gig HD, 16 gig free.

running:
Windows 2000 pro
1.2 T-bird AMD
Radeon 64mb VI/VO

With Windows 2000 Pro and 512 Meg of RAM a 512 Meg Swap file should work great. What is the error with the game? James Collins

try setting the min and max to 512MB like butchrecon suggested

making the min=max keeps windows from fragmenting the swap file

ok, min set to 512 now, and max set to 512. There is still a problem in the game. Problem is as follows:

Porche unleashed:
insert CD, autorun comes on, the game menu appears within windows, and I select "Play". The menu vanishes and a picture appears that has a porche speeding down a road with some blurryness added. The CD spools up, and I wait for about 2 mins before the car vanishes. (It's always been like this). Next, the car vanishes, cd RPM slows down, and The screen goes black. Then the "Electronic Arts" 3d logo appears and dissapears. Next comes the interductory video to the game with the usual highspeed races and police cars. (all that has happend so far is normal. It was just the same when it worked)

Now appears the "Loading" screen. This screen lasts for about 20 min, then the program quits, and goes back to windows!!! The loading screen used to take about10 secs.

I've pushed CTRL-ALT-DEL and watched the porche.exe in the task manager before. The memory that it uses has never gone above 330 mb, and it seems to take up all my physical memory, leaving only about 4-7 mb for other stuff. THe CPU usage remains relitivly low during this time. If I try to switch from windows back to NFS: Porche, Ige rrewarded with a blank screen, then Porche eventually quits....

ANy suggustions? I'm looking in the settings to see If I can limit the amount of memory for one program.

I simply added the PC150 512mb, and took out a 64mb(I had had 64mb+128MB) The game didn't run, so I took out the 128mb also. the game still dosen't run.
