One of the Windows Admins has come and asked me for how much memory a windows server would need running Windows 2003 Advanced Server and Oracle 9i.

I haven't been able to find much to help him and I'm a Unix guy to boot :)

There will be ad hoc queries running against this sucker all day (It's a replicated copy of our OLTP database)

Anyone running this configuration got memory suggestions?

Thanks
Steve

Stephen,

I run Oracle comfortably on my laptop with 392MB of real RAM, so that would be a minimum baseline. We have Windows 2003 servers running Oracle Servers that use 1-3GB of RAM. So perhaps that can give you the feedback to discuss things intelligently with your Windows Admin.
