Hi we normally take backup tapes offsite each day, in our new 10 slot autoloader, is there a way to determine which tape or tapes a certain backup will be on so we can remove and take offsite? I can't seem to figure it out, but still trying! thanks!
steve

You should be able to see which tape has what data on yes. You can label the tapes in Veritas to make this easier but simply going to the Media tab and looking at the time stamp should be an initial indication.
The backup log should also tell you which specific media was used.
There are a whole bunch of ways of doing this really...

Thank you that helped a lot!!!

That sarcastic? You don't like my answer?

Basically its very easy to see what tapes are in an autoloader... run an inventory against the library. I don't get it?

oh no, not sarcastic AT ALL, once I looked at the software it seemed easy enough to do, I just had to really look at it. no, not sarcastic... If I get into it and still have issues, I will definately write back here. Thanks Chris!
