Hi,

Anyone created a recipient policy using ADSI?
I can view them and in theory i have all the info i need to create them but each time i call .setinfo to write the new policy to the AD i get the following message:

"Automation Error: the specified directory service attribute or value dows not exist"

And i get this even if i just try to create an empty policy.

Anyone got any ideas?

Does it work from ESM? Dan

Yep,

Well at least i can create recipient policies via system Manager. just not programatically via adsi.

Other than name, gatewayproxy, purportedsearch and msexchpolicyenabled are there any other properties that have to set before a policy can be created?

I'm thinking somthing along the lines of how creating a user will barf if you have not set samaccount before you call setinfo.

Do a netmon capture when you create the policy from a computer that isn't a DC/GC and you will see the LDAP calls we make to create the object. Then just copy that. Dan
