Since installation of SP2 for Exchange (update from SP1...also updated Windows 2003 to SP1 at the same time as the Exchange SP2 install) RUS and recipient policies fail to apply.
I have to date:
Restarted Exchange System Attendant
Ran RUS update
Ran Recipient Policy update
Even the default recipient policy fails to update. This WAS working pre-SP2. I can make this work, howver, what happens is as follows:
I change the Alias under the AD object "Exchange General" tab. When this is changed, the user acquires the default recipient policy, BUT only as it applies to the new alias. For example, user name is "John Smith" and the default alias that shows up in Exchange General is "JohnSmith". This does not pick up the recipient policy. If I change the alias to "jsmith" it receives the email addresses as "jsmith@mydomain.com" etc. This is the desired effect, however, if I change the alias to "john" it acquires "john@mydomain.com"
As you can see, I can make this work by updating each AD object alias, but...I don't really want to do that =)
Ideas anyone?
