Hello,

We have IP Office v2 system with digital cards, we can do IP phones or digital I rather do digital, our receptionist's do not know who is on the phone what do you recommend for the receptionist's we have some 5410 phones.

Softconsole
Keymodule on a 5420 type extension
Phone manager pro (if not release 9)

What software version is the IP office?
How many extensions?

1416 with DBM32(s), best phone for Receptionists :-)

I have around 100 extensions but I only need a few I have IP Office v7.

Okay here is what I want to do, I want to have the easiest solution for my office staff. I would like to either get them a new phone or they can have phone manager pro, what is the cheapest solution? I am new to Avaya so how does phone manager pro work? Can they click call and pick up their phone? I am not sure how that works.

I find the best receptionist phone to be IP 9650 w/button modules.
Solid phone, with good audio quality and LCD on all button (no paper lables).
+ Softconsole program on a dedicated monitor.

Not the cheapest solution at first glance, but when your regular reseptionist is home sick, anyone can step in and do the job after a 1 min intro.

Buttons provides instant status feedback on busy, available or DND.
Softconsole drag & drop, time in queue, easy call parking, etc.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I think a 9608 does do the job very well along with Softconsole ofcourse.
Buttons are nice but a real receptionist uses a keyboard and a screen.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Things to bear in mind:

- most receptionists memorize the key presses for actions very quickly. They hardly every use the mouse if there's a keyboard or phone shortcut.

- Phone Manager is already a dead end (its been on minimum bug fix life support for a long time and that's been withdrawn now).

- SoftConsole survives because whilst not beautiful it works for what receptionists need to do and they have no replacement (a sort of admission that one-X Portal isn't up to the role of rapid handling of multiple calls).

- Some analysis of how many numbers the receptionist is most likely to be regularly transferring calls to and users/groups they need to monitor the status of, a phone with a couple of button modules may be perfect.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I gave them Phone Manager to mess with and they love it so far! :)

They may well do, but it isn't supported anymore. It works fine but you can't buy the Pro licences so they're limited to 15 speed dials and limited features :-)

It says I have the pro version and I am not complaining :)
