WIN98SE, IE6, OE6. Hos can I tell OE that I want only selected email addresses and/or domains to filter through, and discard all others not on the list?

Tools, Message Rules, Mail, New, check 'Where the from line contains people', check 'Delete it', cick the blue underlined 'contains people', add appropritate names,(here's the important part) Options, click 'Message does not contain the names below', OK all the way out.

I should also mention that anything entered in the names section works as a wildcard. With careful use of this wildcard feature, you can keep the names list small enough to be managable. For example:

'@' or '.' will catch everything - not what you want

'viejolobo' will catch abcviejolobo1234@anywhere.com, someone@viejolobo.net and so on.

'msn' will catch anyone@msn.com, someone@msn.net, msnuser@anywhere.org and so on.

Also keep in mind that when using this rule, any new contact or mailing list that you want to get mail from will have to be added to this rule, unless you already have an apprpriate wildcard entry.

Where are the Message Rules stored? Is it stored in an easily accessed data file, or in the Registry?

The reason I'm asking is because it is so cumbersome to enter one entry at a time in the rules protocol, and it isn't in any sequence either, so it because somewhat difficult to see what I've already got on the different lists. I'm just looking for an easier way of posting to the selected list(s) and sorting the entries.

As far as backing up, I make a ghost image of two of my three hard disk partitions on a monthly basis, but is there a simpler/quicker way of backing up the mail selection lists? Thank you for your help.

BTW I am also using Mailwasher Pro in conjunction with my OE6. I like it but it still requires a lot of my time adding entries to the friends and blacklist text files (including wildcard entries), which I might add are easily accessed to sort and back up. But the preliminary control does not provide a method protocol such as modifying or tagging the subject line with a special character or delimiter for routing purposes once the accepted message is passed to OE.
