Receive e-mail about critical errors?

Hi all,
I don't have a monitoring software such as ICM. My goal is whenever is a critical error(Red) in the event viewer of W2k/W2K3 such as Service failed to restart, I will receive an e-mail telling me that
Do you have any idea how to do this?

I can't help you make it, but what you are looking to do is called create an event sink.
