I have to rebuild our PDC it is using NT4 but it is going to be rebuild as a Win2k box.

I have not rebuild a PDC before and want some advice on any problems that I may run into, and also what i would need to save from the old box to put on the new box.

Any info would be great.

Qube,

Do you currently have a BDC as well?

If so, I would "Promote" the BDC first, then replicate any output data between the newly promoted PDC, and the newly demoted BDC.

Rebuild the BDC, (Win2k Server), and after it's up and running, configure DNS/AD to allow this Win2k DC to be the root of the 1rst forest, which should in turn demote your PDC. (NT 4.0).
