Hi,

my motherboard has onboard the realtek high definition audio hd ..for sound. Some thing did not go well. I say this because i could not see as "playback" the microphone, from the audio devices properties. I went on installing the drivers from the Intel cd that i have.... and it says that i have a newer version. I downloaded the "WDM_A391.exe". The install has no errors but i dont have an sound at all. The windows media player message (when playin audio) is "C00D11BA: Cannot play the file".
If is a video, then i see it with no sound.

Any help?
Thanks

Hi,
I'll post my semi-solution later..

I managed to install the right drivers and now the realtek audio is seen in the device manager under sound and video game controllers. But it has a (!). The error is that the device cannot start (code:10). Also at system devices appears a pci device (????). It is a compaq deskpro thermal sensor. Errr did someone plug any hardware i dont know ?

Help!

Everything ok!

The thermal sensor was for fan control.
As for the sound, i downloaded the latest driver and program definition from intel.com

Thanks
