There's gotta be a way to do this - I'm sure I'm just missing it.

Using Outlook Express 6. I have two accounts:

xxx@abc.com and xxx@xyz.com

I'm dialed into my local ISP which supports my abc.com address. I receive email successfully from both addresses - no problems.

Now I want to forward one of the emails I received - it happens to have been addressed to the xxx@xyz.com address. When I forward, I need the FROM address to read xxx@abc.com not xxx@xyz.com as my ISP will not "relay" email.

I know that when I am composing the email I can change the FROM address to the needed value - couple of different ways to do that. Problem is that I don't pay attention to this and at least 50% of the time the FROM address is wrong and the email is not sent - then I have to open the OUTBOX folder, fix the thing, etc.

Big pain. Any way to tell Outlook to always place the xxx@abc.com address on the FROM line regardless of what it was when I am forwarding?

I set the email address and reply address in the account definition to xxx@abc.com but that doesn't seem to have an impact when doing a forward.

Appreciate the help.

I don't think there is a configuration option to do what you
want -
Or, to put it more truthfully, I've looked at this problem
before and never did find a solution.

Sure. Go into Tools, Accounts, highlight the xyz.com account, choose Properties and then on the General tab, make the reply address the abc.com one. Apply and OK. Newposter

Ah, but as the man said, that is the 'reply to' - Not a 'forward to' setting.

That is if I have 2 mail accounts (guestgulkan@isp1.com and somebodyelse@isp2.com).
and receive a mail on (guestgulkan@isp1.com).
If I try to forward the mail - outlook express (and outlook) automatically set the 'from' address of the forwarded mail to guestgulkan@isp1.com (same as originally received email)

There is no setting configuration that says 'set the from address on any mail I try to forward to somebodyelse@isp2.com '
