Reading fields from a report

Is there any way when a user clicks on a field in a report (a red box appears around it), they can then click on a vb button placed on the viewer toolbar and it will read the contents of the field into a text box.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't think of a means, though I think that you could right click a data element, copy, and then have a button which pastes the contents of the clipboard into whatever.
