Hi

Over the last three weeks i have NOT been able to read CDs (CDRs or MS CDs) from both my standard CDROM drive and my CDRW drive in windows explorer...

It doesnt seem to be just me either... there are at least 3 other people i work with who have the same problem!

We all make sure that we keep up to date with the latest windows updates... so i wonder if it has anything to do with this..?

Any suggestions would be greatfully received....

when i insert a cdrom it just says "please insert a disc in drive d:"

does not recognise a cd at all.

No logs come up in the event viewer...

device manager sees the drives just fine and has identified makes..

the drives have been working perfectly for around 8 months..but it is just recently that they have stopped working!!

any other thoughts would be greatfully received....
