Read Receipt going on forever

Hey all,

I have just started at a new job and they are running a 5.5 exchange server and I have a very interesting problem. One of our users (Operations Manager) keeps getting a read receipt from an e-mail that was dated and sent 2 years ago.

The offending mailbox that send the receipt does not have the original e-mail inside it, but whenever the user is logged onto the mailbox, the other person in question keeps getting sent the auto read receipt message. This gets sent a fair few times a day.

Does anyone have an idea on what this is or how to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Configure him/her to not send "read receipt" and see if it still sends read receipt.
