Hi and thanks in advance for any help givern. We have a Windows 2000 machine with Word 97 installed. If I try to open a password protected document as "read only" nothing happens, that is to say that the document appears to be all grey with no text, pictures ect. I am able to view the same document on a different computer. I have unistalled and re-installed Office and applied all relevent updates. It appears not to open the document at all because after you click read only it supposidly opens the document but under the FILE button on the tool bar there appears to be no properties for that open file????????????????
