Hi,

does anyone know if I can make a page where I read the information of the floppy drive of the end-user (= visitor of my webpage)?

It will be used on an intranet. The script must read files from the a: drive and upload them.

I don't think it's possible, but does anyone of you guys if it is possible?

tnx!

Maybe you could use CF to upload it and read it on the server?

What do you need to do with the file? I mean is it an encrypted password or something? If so, this should work.. In the user preferences though you'd have to let the user specify which drive to read from, just in case..

Hope this helps,
Tony Hicks

You can't read any files on any of the user's drives unless he gives you permission. And then, you can't read them on his machine; you have to read it on the CF server host. Than means he has to initiate a file upload. You can't verify that the file came from the floppy drive.
