i've made some data cd when i was running windows 2000.
normally i could see all the file in Explorer.
Now i've installed windows XP pro an suddenly explorer can't read any of my data cd's.
Do i need some software ?
You shouldn't need any extra software. I have had a problem where a CD-Drive will read only audio CD's but after updating XP it has since cleared up. and reads fine.
Have you run the windows update? If not I would recommend that you do that first. You will need to run it several times as some updates such as Service Pack 1 have to be installed by themselves.
Also are you trying to read them using the same CD Drive? If when you burnt the disk they were left with the session open then they can only be read by CD-R/RW drives?
I have a similar problem where my CD-RW drive has problems reading CR-R disks but my DVD drive reads them fine??
Also visit the website of the manufacturer of the CD drive and see if there are XP specific drivers as this may be the problem?
Hope this helps
