G'Day!<br><br>Ok, here it is:<br><br>As I'm about to upgrade my system with new hardware, I browsed around to find out what was new and *hot* before setteling for anything. Now, I had a look see and found some mobo's over at Asus that supported a "new" memory technology called RAMBUS and  I took a closer look at what this was all about. Also just something that might add some flavor to your post, Recently AMD and Intel both released their Gigahertz CPUS for comsumer use(not that we really need that kinda speed and hear two companies slaping each other about &quot;mine is bigger than yours&quot<br>but Intel's claim was that their CPU was faster, and CHEAPER than AMD's here where it becomes idiotic, in order to get that faster speed than AMD you must be using RDram, now if both are about 1000$ each, that would mean you'd need to pay about 600$ more for the Rdram to make the Intel faster, but with AMD you'd need to pay about 200$ or less for the Sdram, so what does that bring us to, Intel is almost 2000$ where as AMD is still in the 1K range, &quot;The price is wrong&quot; <p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.8m.com>kb244@kb244.8m.com</a><br><a href=

Dont do it.....RDRAM is too costly for the perfermance....

True, its been proven if configured correctly, DDR at least can get more than 30% better performance than RDRam, and it is rumored intel is gona go all RDram in the future(so go towards AMD to avoid this costly burden)(Or see if Transmeta can make a good Crusoe chip for not so mobel computing) <p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.8m.com>kb244@kb244.8m.com</a><br><a href=
