RE PIX 501 and Windows XP VPN

Hello
I am trying to connect to my Cisco PIX 501 using Windows XP L2TP, but i cant connect. I want to know if Windows XP L2TP can connect succesively to a Cisco PIX firewall, because all the articles i have seen on the web seem to be about Windows 2000 L2Tp.
Also are there any benefits of getting the Cisco VPN client as opposed to using Microsoft L2TP.

I suggest using Cisco's VPN client instead of the L2TP protocol.
