i had office 97 installed and everything was fine. then i decided i would upgrade to office 2000, now i have decided that i do still want to use Access 97 for some legacy databases i look after. But after installing Access 97 it tells me i cant start it up becuase it has no licence on this machine. i have the license - i had to put in the key to install Access in the first place!

Any ideas?

I've had this same problem. Knowledge base article 141373.
Go to start find, hatten.ttf
rename it to hatten.old
leave the find box open
Go into the control panel Add/Remove
in the microsoft office 97 Setup box click Reinstall
when the reinstall is finished open the find box and change hatten.old back to hatten.ttf

Why or how this works i have no idea.

cheers lukeduke, that worked a treat.
how weird is that though?!
