There is too many to type. You will know the obvious signs:
Blue Screens
Funny Events in Event Viewer
Stops working altogether
etc...
Of course, if it is a performance problem:
Delete temp files
Run Scandisk
etc...

Yes, The screen is freezing up a lot and also intermitently, it will not give permission to the user to do a proper shutdown. Another strange thing happen was the display goes blank for a while and we would have to cut the system off to get back in.
