I have recently re-created users on W2K server. Each user has a home dir and is set up as z:\users\<usergroup>\%username% within the account profile. Before re-creating, I renamed the old USERS dir holding the original home dirs to preserve work already created and removed the share option. I created a new USERS dir and shared it and then created the accounts. Now when logging on the user can see My Documents on their XP machine but any work is saved to a dir called "test" inside the new users dir. I have tried creating a individual user folder and gave permissions to admins and the user and deleted other folders but it still picks up the "test" folder. The account profile won't allow me to change the z:\users\<usergroup>\%username% to change %username% to the actual user login name.

Thanks.

make sure HOME DIRECTORY is:
connect driverletter:/ \\whereeverylocation is

*after you go back in instead of changing the original files in there to do what you did; you could've just did roaming profile and change location for where they save data, doc, email, etc... (log in and log back in to take a snapshot) then connect to other server and everything will be fine; you just got to physically connect it the first time if roaming profile hasn't already
