Re-asked for database password on compact 1

I have set my database to compact on exit but I am being asked for the password again. My users are complaining about this. Has anyone else experienced this?

Annoying isn't it? Access is importing your objects into a new file and killing the old one. The new file is opening, so you go throught the password prompt again. If you split the files into frontend/backend you can set the compact on close option on the backend (turn it off on the front end) and you won't get this (unless you put a password on the backend too). If you create an MDE front end then you won't need to compact the front end very often. Jeff Roberts
