RDP 6 dead

my problem is with RDP

it has been working for months and it is the one that comes with SP3, RDP 6... yesturday it stopped working bringing up an error once [Connect] had been pressed saying there was a problem with mstscax.dll i checked the file, it seemed fine it had correct permissions and was there...

in the end i replaced with the same file from a different XP machine running same version and it worked streight away...

today it errors again, and copying the file over the top again doesnt fix it this time?!

any ideas? do you need more info?

You could try to do a complete uninstall/reinstall to see if that helps.

Add/Remove programs - uninstall KB925876
Or
if for some unknown reason it might not be there.

You can go to C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallKB925876$\spuninst and rand run spuninst.exe it directly from there

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with RDP.


Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
