Want to migrate rcc database from 400 4.0 and old pc host [win 2003] , to 450 6.0 on a new pc host win 2008] . Cant seem to get the ITEL tool to work which converts the database to new format because we are changing the pc host , any ideas ?

Hi,

What Itel tool, I never heard of one (other than the regular install process)?

The ccrs database on a BCM 4.0 will retain maximum 16000 calls, however may retain as few as 4000 calls due to performance reasons (if there are large number of skillsets and few agents).

The ccrs database on BCM450 and will retain approx 16000 calls; no less as there is no performance issue.

So depending on how long the 450 has been in service, and how many calls customer receives daily, will 16000 calls provide the period of time the customer wants? If yes, there is no need to worry about migration, and just install RCC and download from the 450.

If you really need to migrate the database, question is how stale is the RCC database from 4.0, and how long has the 450 been in operation, considering the 16000 call limit on the BCM? For example, if the BCM450 has been up and running for two months already, and you expect it's already collected 50,000 calls; then there is no way you can migrate the old RCC database to the new RCC build on the 2008 server without losing data (because the BCM retains just 16000 calls).

You cannot stitch database' together.

Perhaps it would be simplest to set customer expectations, namely retain the 2003 server to retain the old RCC build for the BCM 4.0 and install new RCC version on the 2008?

Hope this helps.

PS Never have >1 RCCLauncher running and pointing at a BCM.

regards
paul

Also don't know your current version of RCC for 4.0. RCC 2.4 is based on mysql 4.1, RCC 2.45 is based on Microsoft SQL.

This is a new install 450 6.0 and the rcc version is 5.0 , the 5.0 has microsoft sql express 2005 engine. We want to use win 2008 as our pc host which is known compatible. The issue is the old rcc database is sitting on a win 2003 server also compatible and we want to bring that database which is rcc 2.5 sql engine.
Itel has a conversion tool built into the 5.0 platform that converts the old database but for some reason it cannot load on the 2008 server says it is corrupt. I was hoping that there is a way to plug this historic data into the 2008 server pc host.

RCC 5.0 isn't supported/encouraged beyond USA according to my previous dealings with Itel, so I've not touched it (based in the UK).
