I am trying to use a method to generate random variables in my batch file by using %random%. This works fine when i tested the script in windows.

However, when i boot the machine using a win98 boot disk, the %random% is not working.

Alternatively, is there any other ways which i can generate random variables in a batch file running under a Win98 bootdisk?

Please help!

In basic, the command is "rand" instead of "random". I don't know what language you're using, but give it a try.

I am trying to do this using a batch file, for eg, run.bat.
