We are having trouble with one of our shares having random folders "disappear". In reality they are just getting marked as system folders which effectively hides them from the user. We have no problem "recovering" them via attrib, but are not sure why they will spontainiously turn into system folders. This even occured to the root folder of the share, which the users do not have access to.
We are using a Dell NAS appliance as the server with a raid, and running VSS on the volume. We use UltraBac for backups, and we do run IIS on the same server. Also running cygwin and services for Unix
This one has us stumped. We thought it might be a result of a virus, but there are no strange/viral files being dropped, most of the workstations that access the share are highly managed, and the changes seem random.
