I’ve been using Quark Xpress Passport 6.1 for about a week. I’ve got the PC version. I’m designing posters from advertising spaces that I sell to local sports clubs ( I’ve got a template (was provided to me by the guy who used to design my posters), into which I place 29 advertisements. Some of the ads are designed in Adobe Photoshop CS2 while the simple text based ads are put together with Quark. I’ve put all the ads together and have checked the layout of each individual ad in PDF format. I’ve viewed each of them, and the layout is fine. Each individual ad is in a particular size so that it slots straight into the template. My problem is this – as I place the ads from the individual files, into the template, some of them become distorted when I view the PDF version of the poster (the format I provide the printer with) For example, I placed 15 ads perfectly. Then the 16th and 17th ads were distorted. I changed the text in these two ads so that it was worthy of printing out. Then when I had all 29 ads perfect I had to go back and change one of the ads. On doing this, I then converted the complete poster to it’s PDF version. All of a sudden, 3 of the ads, which earlier on looked ok, are suddenly distorted. It all appears to be random. Sometimes they’re fine, other times they look terrible. Can someone give me a guide as to what I’m doing wrong and how I can rectify this. Thanks for all the help.
