Random Cycle Counts in macola ES

Hello All,

I want to create a cycle count schedule that selects random items and allows me to specify the number of tags to create. Can this be done in Macola ES? I will definitely appreciate any assistance and suggestions with using the Cycle Count function in ES?

Macola does not offer random cycle counts natively. You can choose by cycle count code, but unless this is applied randomly you will not have a true random cycle count.

If true randomness is really important, then you can export the whole item master to excel, randomly select the items there, then write a SQL update query to change the cycle count code on these items to something unique.

From there you can use standard Macola to choose that unique cycle count code.

While not truly random, you should take a look at the count by frequency days option in ES to see if it will meet your requirement.
