I have an ASRock motherboard with AMD duron 1800. I wish to install more memory but I have notice that RAM PC2700 cost much less then RAM PC2100 (which my motherboard supports).
It's always best not to mix and match RAM speeds and manuf's., and also to stay away from bargain RAM.
However, if the proposed RAM is from the same manuf as the existing RAM, then the PC 2700 should work with the PC 2100, but it will run at the PC 2100's slower speed.
is a good place to start looking, but like ski said, beware of "house" or "generic" brands. If you decide to chance them, make sure you get a good return policy from the vendor if it doesn't work.
