RAM missing 1

Hi I have a HP Compaq nx9010 it has a 256MB RAM in it, the BIOS and the O/S only see 198MB RAM.

Is this a issue with this model as another one in the company has the same problem or are these just faulty chips?

Does it have onboard video? (with shared memory)

Yep, that's the problem. Many notebooks have shared video memory. Yours is using 64MB of RAM for video:
