Raise Parent Control's event from child control.

I have two user created controls (both inherit from panel) one control contains multiple child controls. So the parent can "track" the child controls their info is store in the parent as a ListOf. What I need to be able to do is fire off a ItemClicked event on the parent when the child is clicked. AddHandler will not work on the item when it is added to the list. Any ideas?
