Hello

I have a problem with one of my RAD's it has stop working.

Since last night i discovered that my RAD located in RAD set 20 is no being played anymore.

I have check all the settings compered them with the other RADs and everything seems OK. when calling the RAD number in this case 620 all i get is a dial tone again. I also have another RAD on 619 this will ring and play the RAD set 19.

Any ideas of what is going on???

I have a Mitel 3300 software 9.0.3.15

Probably in DND status.

Check active features using Maintenance code

Locate feature ext XXXX

If the RAD is in DND check it's message length timer and expected off hook timer in it's CoS as if this is set too long then the system will put the RAD into DND
The ANSWER PLUS - Message Length Timer should be 2 secs longer than the message and the ANSWER PLUS - Expected Off-hook Timer should be 5 secs longer if the expected off-hook timer is too long the system detects that the RAD has failed to clear down, then it is placed into an internal do not disturb state when the timer expires.

How do I check this with the maintenance code?

Also, if the RAD is in DND how do I clear this?

Thank you for you help.

There should be a feature access code for Do Not Disturb - Cancel Remote if not assign this a code say **5 or something that does not clash
Make sure the phone you want to do this from has remote DND enabled in the CoS

Then dial **5 followed by the RAD extn number this should give dial tone back when completed

To check if in DND go to the maintenance commands and type (as KWB as already said) LOCATE FEATURE EXTENSION <RAD EXT NUMBER>

Supernova99

I just run the command and this is what i get

VM Port : 725
Circuit Location : 1 4 28 4 1
Extension : 620
Active Features :

Also when I try the remote cancel DND it said NOT ALLOWED

OK well that is good no active feature are enabled
If DND was enabled it would say Do Not Disturb

have you tried dialling the RAD number directly?
What do you get?

When I dialed the RAD number in this case 620 all i get is a dial tone, not a busy dial tone but just a regualar tone it wont ring or anything.

I would say that the message is missing

Check the message number that is programmed against that RAD set and re-record a new one or program a message number that is working and try again

I try re recorded the greetin also change the RAD set to one i know is working. nothing worked.
it seems that is the actual number 620 that is not going anywhere, i was thinking to reset the box, will this help?

That might well be the issue and is certainly worth a shot if it is convienient to do so if not we may be able to stop and start the voicemail service and see if this kicks it back into life

You will need to open a SSH Puttytel session to your controller once logged in issue the following (case sensitive)

iPVM_Stop (stops voicemail service)
iPVM_Start (starts voicemail service)

I am not really familiar with the phone system, could you please tell me how to open this session?

Also it will probably be more easy er for me to just restart the box after our business hours.

You need a terminal program called Putty
Available here ->

Open this with the IP address of the controller on port 2002 and RAW selected
username and password should be the same as you log into the browser session
once logged in you should be presented with the prompt ->

at this prompt type -> iPVM_Stop (stops VM)
then type iPVM_Start (starts VM)

Supernova - I got myself in a bind recently with the VM start stop commands.

The stop worked fine but the start not so much.

I then found out the 3300 will not allow a backup if the VM service is programmed but inactive.

I had to reboot a system that had not had a backup in 16 months.

So - I would recommend getting a backup first before stopping any services.

KWB good call, as with anything these days ensure you have a recent backup first before changing anything.
That way if all goes Pete Tong you can restore it back to how it was.
