Radio / Checkbox issue

does anyone know if you can do the following:

If radio button/checkbox the list/menu must be selected.

i know that you can do the above for a text field, but I want to do this for a list/menu

So you are asking if a user checks a ckeckbox or radio then they must select an option from the Select box?

already using that on the form, but does not feature checkbox or radio button, agianst select/menu, only allow text fields....
