I have a Radeon X1600Pro SB Edition X1600AGP512sB. I installed the card then booted into Vista Enterprise. Window automatically installed the drivers. When windows reboots I get a blue screen. I can now only access vista in safe mode. I downloaded drivers and tried to update the drivers but vista tells me it has a up to-date driver. My motherboard is a Asus P4PE with a Intel845PE/GE Chipset. The powersupply is 420 watts. Also when Vista automatically installed the drivers I could not cancell the installation of the drivers to install the ones I downloaded . I do have video but when I install the new drivers and reboot I get a blue screen. I believe the wiring is correct.

If they were the drivers that you downloaded then let us know what the blue screen says and we should be able to help you further.

Hi
The blue screen lasted for a second before it disappeared.
It said something about a hardware error

To get further information about any error look in your Event viewer.

Look in the System or Application folder. You can get to the Event Viewer via right click My Computer icon and select Manage.

Any errors logged in the Event Viewer can be expanded by double clicking on the error line.

Take any event error I.D. number and search for it on these sites.

Also check any "Information" line that mentions "savedump" and you should find reference to "recovered from a bug check". This is the Stop Error that caused your problem.

You can also turn off "automatically restart after an error" so it will just halt at the fault and display the full Stop Error and blue screen.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties .
Click on Advanced System Settings, click Settings under Startup and Recovery .
Click to clear the Automatically restart check box under System failure , and then click OK . The error message on a blue screen should remain on the screen so you can record the error information.

An option for turning off Automatic Restart is also available via the Safe Mode Advanced Options screen.

Hi
gpalmer711 had the solution. I downloaded those drivers
for Vista and it works perfect. Thanks so much to all that
replied. Now I have all the new visual affects for Vista.
Very Cool.
