I picked up a RAD to use on an 824 system and have a few ???'s

First what EXACTLY do I have ? it's a model NT8880. (is it RAD or fastRAD )

what's the diff between models ?

does it need power, or just connection to the KSU ?

finally, what are the ports for ?

There's a DB-25 (goes to modem or PC com port)
there's an RJ-11 on TOP next to DB-25 ??

there's an RJ-11 on the BACK of the unit ..

which one goes to the KSU ? (back or top)

thanks all

Fast RAD is NT8 B 80 but it doesn't have a jack in the top.

yes it does require power
Jack in the back connects to a digital port of the KSU
Should be a DB-9 not a DB-25 in the back.
the DB-9 connects to the com port on your laptop to do direct maintenance using Nortel utilities.

Well it's DEFINATELY a DB-25... I think it's just an older unit ???

Anyway ... I'll post in the Norstar forums and see if anyone has some info...

PS.. Johnp... Northstar is a Cadillac engine!... I don't think I'd get help there either ;)
